Gillian Higgins

Having first trained as a Human Sports Massage Practitioner at the Midland School of Massage and Manipulation I subsequently qualified, as an Equine Massage Therapist with Mary Bromiley, and a McTimoney Corley Animal Therapist from the Oxford College of Equine Physical Therapy. I attained a First Class Honours Degree from the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester and received awards for my research into Equine Sports Massage and its affects on the horse. I have trained with Hilary Clayton and attended a wide variety of therapy courses. I am a BHS Senior Coach and a BHS Stable Manager.  I have studied Equine Therapies in America, France, Germany and Sweden and I am committed to giving our equine partners the best possible levels of care and consideration.
I have represented Great Britain in the Student Riders Nations Cup in Austria 2004 and Canada in 2006 where I won an individual Gold Medal for dressage. I have represented the BHS in Sweden as part of the prestigious Leonardo Exchange programme which aims to share knowledge with our European Counterparts. This has given me invaluable insight into alternative methods the best of which I am able to incorporate into my own practices.

I regularly lecture in Anatomy, Biomechanics, and Complementary Therapies on Equine Science Courses and to Animal Therapists. I also arrange conferences and seminars with world leading authorities. To see more about this visit Horses Inside Out

I event up to intermediate standard with Freddie Fox who is also my model for Horses Inside Out

I am a Member of the Equine Sports Massage Association (ESMA) and the International Guild of Professional Practitioners (IGPP) and regularly attend conferences, seminars and updates.
All my work is covered by professional indemnity insurance.
